Combined effects of elevated temperatures and high strain rates on compressive performance of S30408 austenitic stainless steel

چکیده

This paper presents an experimental investigation on the dynamic mechanical performance of S30408 austenitic stainless steel (ASS) under elevated temperatures, which is essential for determining behaviour structures made with this type subjected to coupled fire and impact/explosion. For purpose, quasi-static compression tests using Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) were conducted temperatures 20–600 °C strain rates from 0.001 3000 s?1. In addition, corresponding microstructures tested samples observed. The stress–strain responses, rate temperature effects as well microstructural evolutions analyzed. Test results show that responses are sensitive temperature. strain-rate sensitivity coefficient increases rise. observation reveals grain dimension declines increment or a decreasing Finally, compressive models ASS suggested basis Johnson-Cook (J-C) model have been proved give reasonable prediction.
